About Blank Space

An intimate, community-oriented event venue in the heart of West Asheville.

The story

A blank room is an invitation

Blank Space was created with a simple vision: to build a place the community could truly share. West Asheville has always been full of creativity, collaboration, and connection, but not enough flexible spaces to bring it all together. Located on Haywood Road, Blank Space honors the history of the building while creating room for what's next—a place where people can work, gather, celebrate, and create.

Designed with flexibility in mind, Blank Space offers private offices, a curated event venue, and a public calendar filled with community experiences. Whether it's a workshop, wedding, networking event, art show, business meeting, or neighborhood gathering, the space is intentionally simple, welcoming, and easy to make your own. The focus has never been the space itself—it's the people, ideas, and moments that fill it. Shared alongside Neng Jr., Blank Space continues to evolve through the community that gathers here.

The building

One building,
whatever the
moment calls for

The building has long been part of West Asheville's creative story. Built in 1924, it has evolved from a neighborhood storefront into a beloved gathering place, home to iconic businesses including The Mothlight, Neng Jr., and now Blank Space. Today, the building continues that legacy by creating room for the people, ideas, and experiences that bring the community together.

What we're here for

The space community reaches for first

Our vision is to be a space where work and gathering share the same rooms. One building, whatever the moment calls for.
